Mentioning the pride in providing the opportunity with the incredibly talented yet underprivileged children to shine in the arts and contributing to their efforts to be a world citizen, Human Resources Director, Gülfem Yorgancılar Perçin, commented after the concert: “The first steps were taken by State Opera and Ballet Dancer, Selmin Günöz. As Yorglass, we decided to provide our support as the main sponsor. In order to crown such a beautiful collaboration as well as our children’s passion for art, we were able to bring together our national prides, world-famous Idil Biret and Gürer Aykal with Yorglass Children’s Orchestra for Peace. We are overjoyed to have had the chance to actualize such a magical evening for them. With our faith in peace and music, we will continue to reach more and more children for the Yorglass Children’s Orchestra for Peace.

Turkey’s oldest maestro conducted the youngest orchestra

Addressing the audience during the concert, world-renowned Maestro Gürer Aykal stated: “Today we are hosting 1,000 people in our concert, and as Turkey’s oldest maestro, I am conducting its youngest symphony orchestra. The existence of such projects and the support they receive gives me immense pride. I would like to congratulate first and foremost the project leader and president of the Children’s Orchestra for Peace, dear soprano Selmin Günöz and the main sponsor Yorglass and you all, our valuable supporters who have not let us down this evening and graced us with your presence. Another important point I would like to underline are the parents who are sending their children to obtain such an education and therefore striving to ensure they will be the enlightened young adults of tomorrow. Such an education will ensure they will have an even high level of awareness in the future, with the ability to lead a fair, just and peaceful lifestyle with character. I sincerely congratulate these valuable parents.”
